Finding Success in Property Conversions, Renovations
With a strong knowledge of finance and his construction experience, he leaped and, in 2018, formed Matty Renos. He began by converting a residential home he owned into an Airbnb and experienced tremendous financial success in this new endeavor. With one successful property renovation completed, he converted a single-family house to a duplex and opened the next Airbnb.
His foray into remodeling and elevating homes for investment properties helped Matthew build a local reputation. He began working with client properties and continued with his development projects. He worked on a duplex conversion with ZZAP in downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In the process, he expanded his knowledge of building codes and city permits, enabling him to grow his portfolio of properties with renovations with million-dollar-plus budgets. He converted a duplex property into a triplex and added a secondary unit for a total of four units.
His steadfast commitment to working with only top-of-the-line engineering, planning, and architecture firms and his experience with city representatives solidified his reputation with clients, colleagues, and the city.
His property development portfolio at a very young age included 37 Prince Albert Road, 29 Prince Albert Road, 38-40 Hawthorne, 1 Hawthorne, 3 Hawthorne, 265 and 267 Portland, and 344 Prince Albert Road, on top of several Happy Clients. He also had the foresight to develop a gem of a property at 344 Prince Albert that many buyers passed over and needed help to lock the deal. He also has several other pieces coming to develop over the next few years.
